빌보드 싱글 차트 1위 기록..

가수겸 작곡자겸 세션맨인 1954년 미국 출신의 Michael Sembello는 다이애나 로스 (Diana Ross) , 

도나 썸머 (Donna Summer), 마이클 잭슨 (Michael Jackson), 바브라 스트라이샌드 (Barbra Streisand), 

스탠리 클락 (Stanley Clarke)등 유명 가수들의 음반에 세션 연주자로 참여하며 경력을 쌓았다.

그리고 영화 [Flash Dance]의 OST 곡인 [Maniac]을 싱글로 발표하며 가수로 데뷔하게 된다.

당시 에어로빅 열풍에 힘입어 에어로빅 운동곡으로도 큰 인기를 얻었다.
