될 만큼 이 앨범이 스래쉬 메탈과 

지금의 Extreme 음악씬에

미친 영향은 실로 가공스러운것이다.

1집인 [Show No Mercy]에서 

스래쉬 초기 사운드를 들려주었다면 

죽음에 대한 컨셉트적인 요소가 강한 

2집 [Hell Await]에서 매우 거친 사운드를 

선보이며 3집에 대한 어느 정도의 

예고를 보여주게 돤다.

3집 [Reign In Blood] 는 28분이라는 

짧은 런닝 타임에도 불구하고 

죽음에 대한 공포를 잘 표현하고 있으며 

극한으로 치닫는 사운드는 듣는 이로 

하여금 무아지경에 까지 빠뜨리는 

마력을 지니고 있다..

이들의 라이브 단골 레퍼토리이자 

당시 많은 문제를 야기 시켰던 

'Angel of Death' (이 곡의 가사는 

아우슈비츠에서 유태인 학살에 

앞장섰던 의사를 모티브로 삼았다.)를 

시작으로 마지막 곡인 

'Raining Blood'까지 숨 쉴 틈을 주지 

않고 몰아 부치는 이들 사운드의 핵심은 

단연 드러머 '데이브 롬바르도'의 

살인적인 드러밍에 있다고 해도 

과언이 아닐것이다..

 

혀를 내두르게 할 정도의 초지일관 

스피드를 앞세운 투 베이스와 심벌의 

난타는 스래쉬/데스계 최고의 

드러머가 왜 롬바르도인지를 

여실히 보여준다 하겠다..

 

케리 킹과 제프 한네만의 송곳같은 

기타 리프와 톰 아라야의 야수같은 

보컬등이 어우러진 이 앨범은 

스래쉬 메탈의 절대 명반이라는데
