1945년 푸에르토리코 출신의 시각장애인 라틴팝의 황제인 호세 펠리치아노는 18살 때 기타 한 대만 메고 뉴욕에 입성을 합니다. 1964년 1집 앨범  'The voice and guitar Jose Feliciano'를 발표한 이래 47년간 무려 50여 장이 넘는 앨범을 발표를 하였습니다.

호세 펠리치아노는 1968년 그래미 어워드 최우수 신인상과 최우수 남성 팝 보컬상 2개 부문을 수상하였고, 2011년 그래미상 평생공로상을 수상하였습니다.
